Doris tragically lost her daughter eight months ago to domestic violence. She is now caring for her daughter’s four children on top of battling breast cancer.

This is their first Christmas together as they struggle to cope. She’s fighting for her life and struggles to make ends meet. She says that when depression creeps in, she finds strength in her grandchildren’s eyes. They depend on her. She also looks to her daughter, who she said is her guardian angel. That’s why she carries a photo of her daughter everywhere.  It was taken last Christmas and is their last photo together.

Doris was able to register for a complete holiday meal to cook for her grandchildren as well as gifts to open on Christmas Day. Your kindness eases the pain of a grieving mother and her grandchildren.
