“My children and I found ourselves living in a storage unit” – Dianna’s Story
Dianna was in a nightmare she wished she could wake up from. Her livelihood — and her children’s — was on the line.
“All my life, I’ve lived with someone and surfed from couch to couch,” Dianna says.“I’ve never really had a place for me and my children to live, and I had no support from my family.”
No family should ever live out of a storage unit — but especially not at Christmas! Because you give, Dianna and her family found emergency help, long-term support, and hope in their hour of need.
“Metro Ministries has provided me with a stable living
place for me and my kids,” Dianna says. “This is the first time we’ve had a place to call home.”
Too many single mothers like Dianna are silently struggling. These brave parents are doing everything they can to provide for their families but still falling through the cracks. That’s where you come in.
Your generosity gave Dianna safe housing, helped her secure a steady job, and provided childcare for her precious little ones. “I now have a new job at the Tampa International Airport,” Dianna says with pride.
For the first time in a long time, Dianna is looking forward to Christmas instead of dreading another day of hunger. The first word she shared when asked about the holiday season is “thankful.” Why?
“For the first time, I will have all my
children together under one roof for
Christmas.”
“Because for the first time, I will have all my children together under one roof for Christmas,” Dianna says. “I really appreciate everything that Metro Ministries has done for me and my kids this year.”
Dianna can’t wait to see the look on her children’s faces when they see presents under their Christmas tree. For families who’ve suffered in poverty, the little things like a gift share hope. “They’ll finally have toys to play with,” Dianna says.
Your support during the Christmas season ensures at-risk families receive everything — from nourishing food to toys for Christmas morning — they need to take steps out of poverty and into stability. It’s all powered by you and other faithful friends!
Thank you . . . and God bless you for making the holidays brighter for families, single men and women, and seniors who are struggling at Christmastime
