Molly and her son saw no way out of their crisis . . . but YOU made a way to safety and stability!
Molly sat on her couch, watching the clock. Would he come home tonight?
She peeked through the window blinds. No truck in the driveway yet. But that still didn’t put Molly at ease. Lately, he had made a habit of parking down the street and sneaking into the house. Every night was a sleepless night for Molly.
“Life before Metro was hell,” she says. “I was trapped in an abusive relationship — mentally, emotionally, and financially. Then, my partner became physically abusive.”
Molly and her son began staying with friends. If no one could take them in, staying in an Airbnb was her plan B. But the cost added up fast — and Molly had no family in Florida to give her a way out of this nightmare. Pretty soon, the mother and son would be out of options.
“I wanted an escape. My anxiety was so high off the wall,” Molly says.
One day, mind racing, Molly reached out to Metro Ministries. Hearing the words “We have a place for you here” changed everything.
BUILDING A NEW LIFE
Because you give, Molly doesn’t have to just survive anymore. She and her son can start a new family story.
“I’m so grateful and blessed by all the help I received from Metro,” says Molly.
Your generosity gave Molly an opportunity to complete medical assistant classes that will pave the way to a living-wage career. And through CREATE (Children’s Recreational, Education, Arts, and Therapeutic Experience), her son found the safety and stability every child needs to thrive.
“CREATE is the most amazing program for kids. My son loves it,” says Molly. “He used to be afraid to leave me. Now he’s taking the bus to school, going on field trips, and excelling in school. I’m thankful for CREATE in so many ways. And my son will still get to attend after we transition out of Metro.”
A Metro case manager toured homes with Molly and helped her secure affordable housing. Now, instead of fearing for her life, Molly gets to build a new life. “I’m ready to make memories with my son,” she says. “Thank you, Metro, for always being amazing to us.”
