Get Ready for Giving Tuesday
HOPE gives back. At Metropolitan Ministries we’re happy to participate in the global day of giving that takes place on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, known as Giving Tuesday. This worldwide event is a day to encourage people and organizations to donate their time and money to charitable causes.
This year the annual celebration will be on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
Join in your own way! There are no limits in paying forward your kindness. We believe that everyone has something to give.
Here are ways you can give with Metropolitan Ministries:
- Volunteer as a family, individual, or with a group (church, school, neighborhood, workplace, clubs, sports teams). Students can earn volunteer credit hours.
- Types of volunteer opportunities in the Holiday Tent include hospitality/greeting and serving snacks for families, helping take food/toys out to a client’s car, donation receiving, food box building, food and toy sorting, stocking the shelves, kids’ zone, and assisting our guests with choosing items.
- Our volunteers range in age from 8 to 80+. Minimum age is 8 years old. Children 8-13 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
- Opportunities are available year-round on our main campuses, and it’s easy to sign up online for various tasks such preparing and serving meals in our kitchen, sorting clothes and food, stocking shelves, reading stories with children, helping with our Metro Garden, to name few.
- Drop off food and toys at a location near you.
- Conduct a donation drive (traditional or virtual).
- Donate online.

Special Thanks: Stop by the Tampa tent at Donor Lane on December 3rd if you gave with Metro Ministeries in any of the ways above to get your “I Gave” sticker. The Hillsborough Holiday tent will be open until 7pm.
This year for Giving Tuesday Metro will be partnering with Fox13 for a triple match challenge. All online donations starting Tuesday, December 3rd will be matched to help provide food and toys for families in need.
