Metro’s Prosperity Center Manager, Rachel Wilson, shares firsthand how the housing crisis is impacting families throughout Tampa Bay, especially those already living below the poverty line.
Since the start of the pandemic in 2020, we have provided over 5 million in rental assistance and 10,997,879 meals to the Tampa Bay community since March 2020 in food assistance. We have also seen utility and rent assistance requests increase by 500% from 150 to 900 per month.
