Our 4 C’s
Trauma Informed Care
We are proud to be Sanctuary Institute certified. The Sanctuary model is based on the knowledge that trauma and chronic stress have deep and lasting impact on human beings, families, and communities. With this in mind, we change the question from “what is wrong with you?” to “what happened to you?” when it comes to how we treat and care for our clients and each other.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
At Metropolitan Ministries, we affirm that all are welcome here. Using the example of Jesus Christ who loved all, served all and gave his all, we invite all to connect with us, regardless of faith, race, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, ability, gender identity or expression, and without discrimination or judgment.
We acknowledge each person comes to us as a unique child of God who is worthy of dignity and respect, and as a trauma-informed organization, we recognize that we all come to this place with different experiences of the world. You can read more about it here.
Continuous Process Improvement
We take each gift we receive from donors, organizations and the government seriously. That is why we strive for excellence in everything we do. Sometimes seeking big returns means making a calculated risk. We’re ok with that as long as we know we’ve done the due diligence to ensure it’s a viable option.
Metro Spirit
Living and breathing our mission, vision, culture and values, customer service, stewardship, accountability, and the brand experience we provide our clients, volunteers, donors, staff, and partners are what make up Metro Spirit. It means we are walking our talk. And the proof is in the pudding.
