Tim Marks
President & Chief Officer

Tim Marks came to Metropolitan Ministries in 2006 after serving as the Executive Director of Community Relations for the Boston Rescue Mission.

Prior to serving at the rescue mission, Tim worked in the corporate world for more than 21 years as an engineer, account executive and sales director.  As a sales director of a Fortune 50 company, Tim led a nationwide organization responsible for an annual revenue stream of over $90M.

Today, Tim is committed to Metropolitan Ministries Mission to alleviate suffering, promote dignity and instill self-sufficiency for homeless and at-risk families.  The Ministries Vision of being America’s most effective caregiver to poor and homeless people is the driving force in his pursuit of excellence, superior results and lasting impact for the families we serve.

Tim’s commitment to collaborative partnerships has led to multiple non-profit and public agency partnerships, greater volunteer engagements, stronger donor-centric initiatives, and greater outcomes for the families we serve.  Today, Metropolitan Ministries serves five times as many families through program growth, with 140 families living on three campuses and over 20,000 households being served through Outreach & Prevention Services each year.

Tim earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Oakland University in Rochester, MI, a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from the University of Tampa, and a Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management Certificate from Harvard Business School Executive Education. Tim and his wife Valeri reside in south Tampa.  They have three adult children.

I believe in the work of Metropolitan Ministries because I have personally witnessed the life-changing programs and compassionate staff bring hope to traumatized children, mothers, and families from every walk of life. I believe in life change. I believe God has blessed this ministry with so many faithful donors, caring volunteers, compassionate collaborative partners, and called staff members all working together to bring hope and healing to individuals who have nowhere else to turn. We are here for the critical times in an individual’s life and we stand in the gap to alleviate their suffering and lead them to becoming self-sufficient.Tim Marks
