Drop Off Donations

More than 100 children and their families live with us day-in and day-out. However, that’s not all. Nearly 32,000 families get help at the Ministries every year. Meeting the ever-increasing need of Tampa Bay depends on the generosity and commitment of community partners.

You can help by making a personal donation of needed items, hosting a donation drive, providing bulk donations or donating gently used items for resale in our thrift store.

Food Donation Locations

Hillsborough County

Metropolitan Ministries Donations Warehouse at Tampa Campus: 2101 N. Florida Avenue, Tampa 33602. Corner of Frances St. and Florida Ave., behind Bloom Again Thrift Store near the large sign that says “Donations.” Assisted drop-off hours: Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Pasco County

Metropolitan Ministries West Pasco Campus: 3216 US Highway 19, Holiday, FL 34691. Assisted drop-off hours: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Metropolitan Ministries East Pasco Campus: Bulk non-perishables only at this location. 13703 17th St, Dade City, FL 33525. Donations are accepted Monday-Friday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Donate Non-food Items

Step 1: Determine whether or not the items you wish to donate are useful.

We can only make use of items that are new, nearly new or gently used. Our mission is to promote dignity among those we serve by providing them with the things they need to make a fresh start. Please note we DO NOT ACCEPT these items: Restricted Items

Step 2: Drop Off

Outside of business hours, we are suggesting and encouraging donors to take their clothing donations to these donation bin sites:

Embassy Food and Gas – 6618 Embassy Blvd, Port Richey
Airheads HVAC – 4409 US Hwy 19, New Port Richey
Sunshine Market – 4512 Grand Blvd, New Port Richey

All other donations of furniture and household items can be donated to Salvation Army nearby to also benefit the West Pasco community. Thank you for your understanding.

Step 3: Schedule a Donation Pick up.

Residential pickup is available for gently used furniture items and other large donations.

All pickup requests must be submitted online using the “Donation Pickup Request” below.

Pickup is limited – we will review and consider donations when details and photos of your items have been uploaded with your request form.

Our Partner: Sunshine Thrift Stores

Metropolitan Ministries has partnered with Sunshine Thrift Stores and Collection Solutions & Management, LLC (FL #67971) to collect household items and clothing from the general public. Your donations to our partner, Sunshine Thrift Stores affiliate Collection Solutions & Management (FL #67971) help sustain Metropolitan Ministries’ meal programs throughout the Tampa Bay area and provide affordable clothing to our clients.

Yellow Card Mail Program

Sunshine Thrift Store

Collection Solutions & Management (FL #67971) uses direct mail (have you seen the yellow card in your mailbox?) and other methods to notify the public of items needed. Trucks are then dispatched, providing curbside pickups, to neighborhoods to collect the donations. Donated items are subsequently sold to local thrift stores, and the money generated is used to help the Metropolitan Ministries with its core mission, competencies, and programs.

Enlisting a trusted and registered partner like Sunshine Thrift Store to collect, clean, sort, and repackage items donated to this program allows us to focus our charitable resources on our mission and programs.

However, that’s not all! Our partnership with Sunshine Thrift Store provides on the job training in retail sales for our residents.
