Compassion + Action
Metropolitan Ministries is serving more homeless and at-risk families than ever before. Still, we believe we can do more. Compassion + Action is a network of services utilizing everything Metropolitan Ministries has to offer to engage partners across the Tampa Bay region to help meet the growing need.
There's a new face of homelessness in America. Families with children are hurting and in search of hope. Local churches and suburban agencies are facing challenges they never expected as their members and neighbors struggle to survive in the face of foreclosures and job losses.
Metropolitan Ministries wishes to share our resources in the most effective manner possible by expanding our partnerships.
So where do you fit in?
Meal Site Partner
Daily meals are prepared from the heart by Metropolitan Ministries’ kitchen staff. Additional Meal Site partners are needed to pick up, transport and distribute these meals to hurting people right in their own neighborhoods.
Holiday Partner
Holiday Partners are needed to help care for those who cannot travel to downtown Tampa. Holiday ‘meal’ partners are needed as well as holiday ‘hub sites’ who serve as satellite locations of our main campus.
H.O.M.E.S. Partner
H.O.M.E.S. (Housing Offering Mentoring Education and Support) partners ‘adopt’ families who have completed our Uplift U® residential program and are transitioning to self-sufficiency. We provide a family case worker and volunteer training.
Volunteer & In-Kind Partner
Volunteer your time and talents on our main campus, at an event, or in your own local community. In-Kind partners are needed to host donation drives to provide needed items for families who will otherwise go without life’s basic essentials.
Year-Round Satellite Partner
Satellite partners serve as a replicable model and mobilization of our current outreach services. Metropolitan Ministries will equip and train partners to help meet the need in their own local communities.
Wherever you are, there is an opportunity to help. There is no limit to how involved you can be with Compassion + Action. This initiative will be conducted in the Tampa Bay region of Florida and encompass Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas counties with the long range goal of expanding throughout the state of Florida and the nation.
